Mr Dragan Momčilović, born 3rd of March 1955 in Pančevo, is a career diplomat and a powerful speaker on a wide range of topics covering law, politics, governance, and cultural themes across the world. He was appointed as Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Kingdom of Sweden in 2017.
Prior to the current position, he has had a long and distinguished career in the diplomatic service starting from 1981. Firstly, he began working as Attaché at the Federal Secretariat of Foreign Affairs in 1981. Between 1984 and 1988 he was 3rd Secretary of the Permanent Mission of SFRY-Yugoslavia in the EEA in Brussels, Belgium. Between 1991 and 1997 he served as Advisor-Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the FRY Brussels / Belgium, after which Mr Momčilović became Minister Counsellor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belgrade.
He was appointed as the Charge d’affaires in Paris, France of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to the from 2000 until 2001. He also served as the General Consulat the Consulate of the SCG in Istanbul / Turkey between 2001-2003. After that he was Ambassador at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Addis Ababa / Ethiopia 2009 – 2013 and 2017 he became Ambassador at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Stockholm / Sweden.
Mr Dragan Momčilović is married and has two children.
